Institute of Science & Technology for Advanced Studies & Research, abbreviated as ISTAR, is established as a center of quality education offering postgraduation in science and technology. The Institute has been established by Charutar Vidya Mandal (CVM), an educational society.

CVM has a mission of reinvigorating society through quality education. Since 1947 CVM has established over 45 institutions proving itself highly responsive to the changing socio economic environment by venturing into various emerging disciplines under the continuous dynamic leadership of Late Shri Bhaikaka, Late Shri Bhikhabhai Saheb, Late Dr. H.M. Scholarship

Under various schemes, District Backward Class Office, Social Welfare Office Jilla Sewa Sadan, Anand & Jilla Takedari Adhikari, Lal Darwaja, Ahmedabad grant scholarships every year to students of ISTAR who belong to Social Minority, S.E.B.C, O.B.C, S.C & S.T.

This has become possible through the unstinted support and co operation extended by Mr. Mohan Vaghela (Office Clerk) who is handling this activity since last ten years. 32 students have been benefited by these scholarships during last academic year.
